Ulm Minster - Austin Heyne

Ulm Minster is a large church located in Germany. Due to never being the seat of a bishop, it is not defined as a cathedral even though it looks as such. However, because of this distinction is is the world’s tallest church with a spire height of 530ft. Possibly the coolest feature of this church is that the spire is still open to the public to climb, if you’re willing to fare the 768 steps. Fairly normal spiral staircases lead up to a large observation deck just under the steeple, but the best view requires you to climb the last part in a narrow staircase barely wide enough to squeeze by someone. Being up that high, on a structure made of pure stone, is equally impressive as it is frightening.
