In the first half of 2006 I was stationed at an Army post about 30 miles outside of Washington D.C for training. That Memorial Day weekend a few of us went into Washington D.C. to go see the monuments. I had never been to D.C. before so I was amazed at the sheer size of the buildings. Also because it was a holiday weekend, there were just thousands of people at each one. I had a great time and am happy I was able to go. One day I hope to go back sometime in the Spring or Fall so it's not quite so hot. I'm glad I took the time to go searching through some old photos and found quite a few from that trip that I had forgotten.
