Out of everything I saw in Washington D.C., the Washington Monument was my favorite. I could not believe the sheer size of the building. It's right around 555 feet tall and I think it makes a bold statement. As spectacular as it was up close, I found the view from the Lincoln Memorial with the reflection pool amazing. I also like that it's an obelisk, tying into ancient Egyptian civilization. And the way the Capitol Building, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial all line up, they make urban planning seem easy.
