The New Library in Hudson--Devon Triebold

This photograph shows the newly-remodeled library in Hudson, Wisconsin. This building is one of my favorite buildings in that town because of its calming atmosphere, use of materials, and use of light. The entire first building is a common area with seats and coffee tables where people can read. The light on the first floor filters in through the windows and there is very little artificial light. Inside a set of winding stairs goes up to the second floor, where the actual books are located. The library was newly remodeled, and the atmosphere is calming and perfectly suited for reading.
