Buckingham Palace

The palace is the official residence of Queen Elizabeth and serves as a center for much of the state functions of the UK. This building is interesting due to its age, it was built originally in 1703 and has lived through both world wars (it sustained a number of direct hits in the bombings) and has seen the invention of electricity (which was first installed in the ballroom in 1883). Buckingham palace is a sight to behold and certainly worth a stop if one happened to be in London.
