The Mall Of America boasts that is it is the largest mall in
America employing over 12000 people and containing over 400 stores. The Mall of
America was meant to be a total retail and entertainment center with theaters
and bars as well as retail spaces. This is once again a sign of the great age
of retail. It was opened in the early ‘90s but the concept was designed in the ‘80s,
the decade of excess.
