The sooner fashion mall is right here in Norman. Originally
constructed in 1976 it was remodeled in 1999 and underwent a name change from
Sooner Fashion Mall to Sooner Mall, a name change that was short lived. The
Sooner Fashion Mall was the sight of my first job at Sears selling electronics.
The majority of the mall never interested me. There never seemed to be anything
in the mall that particularly interested me, but malls in general were always
something I enjoyed. The wide open spaces, glass ceilings, fountains and groups
of people milling around have always been fun and oddly comforting to me.
