St. Peter's Basilica- Chase Ossenkop

All my life, one of the man things that I have always wanted to do has been to visit the Vatican. Well, this past month I finally got the chance. The city is laid out with a bunch of museum halls at the entrance, so you can see the art right off the bat. Well, once you get through all that, you walk out onto St. Peter's Square. Immediately, I turned around and saw the Basilica. I was awe struck. The scale of this building is impossible to explain with words, it was just amazing. Upon walking in, you are greeted with a vast, open room that leads to the area under the main dome. The columns were massive, and the lettering along the ceiling was ten feet tall. I was at a loss for words. I will never forget the emotions that I experienced upon first walking in, it was an indescribable experience. This is an important building in the Catholic community and while I may not be Catholic, I respect this importance and absolutely love this building.
