Containerized Housing Unit - Daniel Hale
This is a row of Containerized Housing Units that I lived in while I was deployed to Iraq. While the name stuck, I don't believe these were converted shipping containers, but rather more like a mobile home without any insulation or drywall on the interior. The floors were plywood, and mine had a bunch of holes I covered with duct tape, and sheet metal on the exterior. Definitely not the best type of living for a desert environment in terms of comfort and efficiency. The walls would still be warm to the touch well into the night during the summer. But they were long and easily accommodated two people with plenty of personal space on each side of the unit. It could have been much worse.
