St. Basil's Cathedral, or more formally
The Cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat, is located in Red Square, Moscow, Russia. It was commissioned in 1552 by Ivan the terrible, and it was designed by architects Barma and Postnik Yakovlev. Its design utilizes a diversity of three dimensional architectural elements that were constructed with bricks. I have only seen this building in pictures, but when I see it I am amazed at the individuality of the building. I can only imagine how much more impressive this building is in person, and I would love to get the chance to visit it someday.
