This building in Raleigh, North Carolina on Wade Avenue sets back conspicuously off of a frequently traveled roadway. From first glance this building appears to be just another house in this nicer part of town. However, it is actually a water booster pump station designed to help keep water pressure content for the city. The architects and designers of this pump station build it to fit in with the surrounding area. This touches on the point you have been making in class about unsightly metal buildings and structures that just don't fit in to the landscape, culture, and environment they were placed in. Apparently disguising government buildings as houses such as this helps prevent vandalism. People are less likely to hang around or graffiti a building that looks like someones up-kept house.
