J. Colton Hill- Alnwick Castle
This is Alnwick Castle in Northumberland England. The castle as been the residence of the same family for over 700 years. One of the most interesting things I noticed about the castle was the black and weathered appearance of some of the outer walls. You can see this in the picture above. This blackening occurred back when they would build fires outside the castle to heat it in the cold winters.
The architecture was really amazing.
Another interesting fact is that this was the location of the scene from the first Harry Potter movie where Harry Potter learned to fly on a broom.
