Tavertine Nature Center | Sulphur, OK
The Tavertine Nature Center is nestled in the woods of the Chickasaw National Recreations area, or as the locals like to call it 'the park.' It it design over a stream, which is just one of its cool features. Its made mostly from stone, and in earth-toned design helps it blend in with the surrounding environment. The building houses a collection of native plant and animals species and helps educate the public about them. This building is a really good example of architecture combined with a buildings intended purpose. While the nature center discusses the importance of the local nature, the building works with it to reinforce that message.
