I once had a tour in Xiamen, fujian province, China. And Nanputuo Temple is one of the must visit tourist attractions in Xiamen. Nanputuo temple is located on the foot of the Wulaofeng mountain in the south-eastern Xiamen, facing the blue harbor. Nanputuo temple has the largest size in all Xiamen temples.
Nanputuo temple is to oblate the Avalokitesvara Buddhisattva, which has the great reputation not only in the south of China, but also in the south eastern Asia. Many believers and visitors come to nanputuo temple to pray for the health, wealth, peace, or the offspring,etc.
You will find nanputuo temple is crowded everyday, and filled with the cloud of incense. The building complex originated from the Dang dynasty, and was rebuilt for some times.
