Designed by architect David Childs the building has some
large shoes to fill. It is very modern with clever design features hidden all
about and filled with amenities like quick elevators. It stands as the tallest
building in the western hemisphere at a patriotic 1,776 ft from the tip of the
antenna, and the habitable areas end at 1,368 ft, which was the height of the
twin towers. Even with all of the technology and nostalgia it seems the people
of NYC are skeptical due to a lack of mixed-use capabilities in many of today’s
modern buildings.
