#10 – (10/23) Mercedes Garcia – Price Tower Extension by Zaha Hadid
In 2002, renowned Iranian architect Zaha Hadid proposed an extension to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Though it was not a true building proposal (it was never intended for construction), it is still an interesting project presented in both the portfolio of Zaha Hadid Architects and the Price Tower Arts Center. I first encountered this plan when I visited the Price Tower in 2008. Mistaking it for a real place, I spent a few years excited about the prospect of such a famous architect working in Oklahoma. Despite its status as a fictitious building, I still enjoyed viewing the models for this plan (which actually make up the centerpiece of the Arts Center).

She wouldn't have wasted her time designing a "fictitious building". The reality probably is that they couldn't persuade the Price family to pay for it.
