Evergreen Point Floating Bridge
This is the longest floating bridges in the world and was
built in 1963. The unusual design can be contributed to the depth of Lake
Washington which was too deep to build a suspension bridge at the time of it’s
construction. The bridge has withstood years of use and abuse, surviving high
windspeeds and a collision with a barge. The state is looking into a
replacement bridge to be built due to the seismic activity of the area.
